The Cease & Sekkle Kit
MY LAST GOOD NERVE + CHILL OUT
Cease. Sekkle. Sip. Then go help the people dem.
PEACE TRIBE!
My Grandma Birdie used to say: “Cease and sekkle, turn down the kettle.”
She was not telling us to stop making tea. Sekkle means settle yourself. Get calm. Get collected. And turn down the kettle means turn down the heat on yourself. You’re running hot.
Before you go answering that text, fixing somebody’s problem, telling somebody exactly what you think of them or trying to heal the whole world, maybe tend to your own temperature first.
Wise woman. 😂
September felt like the perfect month to share one of the ways I actually do that for myself.

SEKKLE YUH NERVES
This month I’m talking about Grandma Birdie’s wisdom, why CHILL OUT lives in approximately every bag I own and how I use MY LAST GOOD NERVE when my own internal kettle needs turning down.
WHAT I TUCKED IN YOUR PACKAGE
This month is not just one tea.
It’s my own little Cease + Sekkle hack.
MY LAST GOOD NERVE: RELAX + RECOVER
Lavender, hops, passionflower, rose, rose hips and oat straw come together in this caffeine-free blend made for those “everybody please get off my last nerve” moments.
This is the little bottle I keep close. Backpack. Purse. Desk. Because people.
4 sprays of CHILL OUT TONIC SPRAY is the equivalent of drinking 4-5 cups of tea! It’s a concentrated herbal extract made with a broad blend including kava, passionflower, bacopa, lavender, eleuthero, reishi, Holy Basil, rhodiola and schisandra. (see more here)
🍭 2 RAW TURBINADO SUGAR STIRRERS
Because sometimes your sanity deserves a little sweetness.
MY FAVORITE WAY TO SEKKLE
1. TURN ON THE KETTLE.
Yes, Grandma Birdie told us to turn it down. That was the metaphorical kettle. Once you’ve turned down your own heat, put the real one back on. 😂Steep one sachet of MY LAST GOOD NERVE.
2. SWEETEN IT IF YOU LIKE.
Let one of your raw turbinado sugar stirrers slowly melt into the cup. No rushing. The assignment is literally to sekkle.
3. GIVE YOUR CUP A LITTLE BACKUP.
One of my personal tricks is adding a few sprays of CHILL OUT directly to my mug.
Think of it as the herbal-extract version of calling in reinforcements. Follow the bottle directions for use.
4. SIT. SIP. SEKKLE.
Do not make the tea and then immediately start doing seventeen other things. Sit your good self down. Your nerves first. Then go help the people dem.
🌱 ABOUT THOSE PYRAMID SACHETS
Those organic pyramid tea sachets are made from sugarcane fiber, not plastic. That means they are microplastic-free. Why do we care? Because we love you. And the only thing we want steeping in your tea is what we actually put there.
MY FAIRY HERB-MOTHER NOTE 🧚🏽♀️🌿
Being the healer does not mean everybody gets unlimited access to you while your own nervous system is hanging on by one little frayed thread.
Grandma Birdie knew.
Turn your heat down first.
Tea. Tonic. Chair.
Then go save the world.
THREE WAYS TO PLAY WITH YOUR SEPTEMBER TEA
Hot tea is lovely. But Tea Club means I get to show you what else these herbs can do in the kitchen.

🍸 BONUS: CEASE + SEKKLE MOCKTAIL
CHILL OUT AS YOUR HERBAL “BITTERS”

MAKE IT
- Fill a beautiful glass with ice.

ONE MORE LITTLE THING...
Your Tea Club subscription continues to help us support Kenyan schoolchildren and farmers. So while you are tending your own cup, you are helping us pour into somebody else too. That is Communi-Tea. Thank you for sipping with purpose.
Love, Peace + Tea,
